Dr. Luis Enrique Casal is an internationally renowned Panamanian violinist and violist, recognized in 2015 as a “Notable Citizen of Panama” by the National Commission for Civic and Moral Values. According to The Panama News, his figure stands out at the top of the country’s classical scene, a category that highlights his influence and excellence. He currently holds the position of vice president of the Sinfonía Concertante Foundation of Panama and serves as honorary academic advisor to the Alfredo Saint Malo Music Festival.
He also serves as a viola professor at the Music Advancement Program (MAP) at the Juilliard School and as a violin/viola professor at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, the Lucy Moses School at the Kaufman Music Center, and the Washington Heights Community Conservatory of Fine Arts.
